HINES OF OXFORD was established in 1979 and commenced trading in tapestry wall hangings from freehold premises in Littlemore, Oxford and moved to Weavers Barn in Windmill Road, Headington, Oxford, in 1986. Prior to this, Bruce, with his father Henry, ran WP Hine & Co, Gentlemen's Tailors & Outfitters in High Street, Oxford until that business was sold as a going concern in 1979. Involved in textiles his entire working life, and more specifically with tapestries for over 42 years, Bruce's contacts worldwide, with his personal knowledge and close cooperation with weavers on the Continent, has proved invaluable in ensuring that Hines of Oxford remains the leading source for fine tapestries globally.
